The program has a very simple user interface, with only three menu options: File, Edit, and Help. Using the File menu, You will be able to browse for and select different files to view in the large window. You can open PDF, AVI, XLS, and HTML files without any trouble whatsoever.

By 12 August customers will be unable to make calls and send texts to those on the JUST Mobile network, rendering the network practically useless. All services will stop on 19 August and customers will have until 31 August to move to a new network before all services of the company and the company itself are terminated completely.

The company has posted a number of messages on their Facebook page thanking all its staff and customers for their loyal service.

JUST Mobile’s unique selling point was that they sold phones and sim cards in convenience stores, allowing them to offer a cheaper network to customers as they did not have to deal with owning outlets.

blu displays how many characters you have left using large numbers behind your tweet so you know when you’re about to run out of space. And replying to a tweet couldn’t be easier: just click the reply icon and the tweet you’re replying to will flip, revealing a entry field. Direct messages and re-tweets work the same way.

Here’s another great feature in blu. You get a tweet, but it’s a reply to something you said earlier and you can’t quite remember what it was you said. You can also Append or Overwrite an already existing PDF, and more easily create and edit document properties and PDF security from the main PrimoPDF interface. Publisher NitroPDF also claims that the program starts faster, and we did notice that it launched quicker than before–note that this was an empirical judgment, though.

Primo’s size has been reduced slightly to 7.38MB, and the new drag-and-drop icon also serves as a program launch icon, making it easier to manage the app. The four conversion quality settings have been exposed upfront, too, so you can easily toggle quality settings from Screen to eBook to Print to Prepress. There’s a Custom setting, as well.

The conversion process from whatever document is on your screen to PDF is quick and efficient. Other features include a password-protection feature that can be used for restricting reading, editing, or printing the PDF. However, trying to create a PDF while the interface was already open resulted in neither a new PDF nor a warning that there had been a failure. The interface also sports an ad for other PDF-related software made by Nitro that takes up half the interface. Those hitches aside, PrimoPDF is an effective tool for quick and casual PDF creation.

The Touro isn’t perfect, missing support for FireWire and Thunderbolt. It also caps at just 750GB of storage, half that of some other portable drives on the market, such as the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Ultra-portable. At a street price of just around $90 for 750GB (or $75 for the 500GB version), however, the Touro still makes a very good companion for those who need extra storage to use on the go.

The portable drive comes with just one Mini-USB 3.0 cable that’s used both to transfer data and to draw power from the computer’s USB port. It works with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports. For the best performance, the former is recommended. Unlike similar portable drives in Seagate’s GoFlex family that offer any kind of connection type via adapter swapping, the Touro comes with just one Mini-USB 3.0 port on its top side. Near this port is a blue indicator light, visible only when lit up, that shows the power and data activity status.

The Touro is preformatted using the NTFS file system (Windows) and all you have to do is plug it into a computer’s USB port to use it. It can also be easily reformatted to work with Macs. The drive comes with the simple yet robust Hitachi Backup software for use with both PCs and Macs. Hitachi Backup can back up the entire profile of the current user (per default setting) or any folders of your choosing. Once the folders are picked, the backup will work via a single click. You can also set it to back up automatically on a schedule.

We find that this is indeed a viable backup solution for PC. On a Mac, we’d recommend reformatting it into the HSF+ file system and using Time Machine for backups.

FreeZ Online TV promises to offer thousands of free channels, but like other software’s it also had lot of hurdles. The channel selection is unimpressive and user guidance is nonexistent.

The most confusing things about the program are the links that appear on the initial screen when the program is opened. We mistakenly believed they might provide more guidance for the program but instead directed us to two different sites promising free online TV. Both require additional downloads, and weren’t related to FreeZ Online TV.

That said, once we explored those two false leads, the program itself proved fairly easy to operate, although disappointing in its outcomes. A standard viewing screen sits next to a file tree with 16 main categories, including News, Entertainment, and Weather. Within each category are at least a half dozen channel choices, but many are not in English. Simply click one and it begins playing. The typical media controls to stop, start, pause, etc., become visible at the bottom of the screen as the content buffers. What you won’t find are any guides to the channels, which seem randomly selected from various countries around the world. All you get are the call letters (like WSTV) or largely unrecognizable names like NOS Journaal. We also found that many of the listed channels didn’t play at all. There are no user settings, so you can’t delete or add your own channels, and no Help file or other user guidance is available.

During installation, a box is pre-checked that will add the FreeZ Online TV Toolbar, so be sure to uncheck this if you don’t want this little extra. Or, better yet, skip the download altogether and avoid not only the toolbar but this unimpressive program as well.

Turning the Tablet Lenovo IdeaPad K1, we were impressed by the brilliant 10.1-inch display. 1280 x 800 resolution means everything from the menus to our attempts to photograph suspicious looks crisp and clean. Capacitive technology was used, while the tablet records the electrical impulses to your fingertips when you swipe or scanning the screen. As usual, it works perfectly, so that cycling through menus and Web browsing experience is satisfactory, without frustration.

Flash browser support means that you can see the video in the likes of the BBC iPlayer and YouTube, a great way to waste an afternoon, when they are supposed to work. If you prefer to play with applications that have full access to Android Market, and the Lenovo Store application. The latter is a rather pointless addition, as the market has everything you need.

You can also bring your friends and family using the built-in 5MP camera required on the back, or indulge in some web chat with 2MP front lens. A mini HDMI port lets you connect to external TV to show their holiday snaps, and Lenovo expects to get 10 hours on the go.
